To Determine if a Book is Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader Dates for Meeting Goals (goals are set by the classroom teacher):

1st Nine Weeks:  October 14, 2009

2nd Nine Weeks:  December 18, 2009

3rd Nine Weeks:  March 12, 2010

4th Nine Weeks:  May 7, 2010

Who will be crowned King and Queen in each grade for the school year?

Grades 2-5 will receive individual prizes for meeting goals each 9 week period.  K-1 students will be awarded prizes based on the number of points earned each 9 week period.

Other areas of recognition:

• Students in second through fifth grades who achieve three AR goals assigned by the classroom teacher will earn a medal.  K-1 students will earn the medal for achieving  Independent Reader Status in the AR program (accumulating at least ten points on one's own).
• a King and Queen for each grade level will be recognized (most points in their grade)
• The student receiving the highest total points for the school year will receive a trophy.  
• Students who accumulate 100 pts. or more will be recognized.
