Congratulations to the JLA Academic Teams!  We had several teams compete at the Academic Challenge this past Saturday and one of our Primary teams and one of our Intermediate teams won the Principal's Cup for their division.  We are so proud of all of our students that competed for the Principal's Cup.  The two teams that won will go to the District Wide Superintendent's Cup on the evening of March 25.  Good luck JLA!

If you drive your children to school in the morning we encourage you to use the parent drop off loop.  If you are walking with your child please allow the crossing guard at the corner of Maywick and Appomattox to assist you across the road.  Please cross at that intersection instead of crossing at other parts of the street.  With the darkness in the morning and the cars parked on the side of the street it is harder to see people if you are not being assisted by the crossing guard.  Thanks for your help with this.

Registration for kindergarteners and other new students will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays during these windows:

  • April 8-25; plus evening registration 4 to 7 p.m. on April 9
  • Tuesdays from June 17 through July 22, excluding July 1 (elementary only)
  • July 29 through Aug. 13, the first day of school

BUS LOOP UPDATE

As of 11/21/13 the construction crew has taken the bus loop/parking lot to do their work.  We will let you know here when the lot is open again.  Thank you for your patience during this time.

Congratulations to Mr. John Logan and Ms. Sarah Lynn on being elected to the SBDM Council. They are the parent representatives for the 2013-2014 school year.

Families - If you need to do a transportation change for your child you will either need to come to the office and fill out a new form or send a note.  We need the change in writing.  We do not take changes over the phone.  Thanks for your help with this.

Doors open at 7:15 a.m. and breakfast is served until 7:35 a.m.

At 7:45 a.m. the school day officially begins.

Dismissal starts at 2:50 p.m. (15 minutes has been added on to the school day as of April 7, 2014.)
